Everyone wants to make these chocolate coated almonds, but while the shop-bought versions are definitely tasty, homemade cocoa dusted almonds are a much healthier alternative! Indeed, their nutritional values are more interesting. In fact, they are much less caloric and sweet than regular chocolate almonds.
As a snack or dessert, cocoa dusted almonds are a little guilty pleasure! Make your own mix with nuts, dried fruits, and almonds for a boost of energy and protein!
Natural whole almonds
Heat the maple syrup and almond extract in the microwave for 10 seconds.
Quickly add the hot syrup mix to the almonds.
Then, add the cocoa powder and mix until the almonds are completely coated.
Finally, move the almonds around in a sieve to remove the excess cocoa powder.
In the United States and Canada, a normal almond serving contains about 23 almonds. For a filling snack, eat fresh fruits or vegetables as well. This way you won’t be hungry until your next meal!
