Whole chicken wings
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Chili powder
Smoked paprika
Ground ginger (optional)
Salt
Pepper
Homemade BBQ sauce
Cut each chicken wing at the joints to obtain three pieces. Discard the smallest piece and keep only the other two. Then, pat dry each piece with a paper towel.
In a large resealable plastic bag (like a Ziploc or Stasher bag), mix the spices. Add the chicken wings to the bag and mix well. Massage the wings with the spices to ensure they adhere to the meat. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place a rack on top of a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
Bake the chicken wings for 30 minutes, making sure to flip them halfway through. Then, brush the wings with BBQ sauce and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
Flip the cooked chicken wings, brush the other side with BBQ sauce, and continue baking for 5 minutes. If desired, broil for a few more minutes.
