Long-grain white rice
Butter
Chopped garlic
Chicken broth
Honey
Lemon zest
Fresh lemon juice
Chopped green onion
Salt and pepper
First, thoroughly rinse and drain one cup of long-grain white rice.
Next, in a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the tablespoon of butter and add the white rice and chopped garlic. Sauté for 2 minutes.
Then, incorporate the chicken broth, honey, and lemon zest. For a perfect cook, bring it to a boil, then let it simmer uncovered until the liquid is at the same level as the rice. Reduce the heat to low and cook the rice covered for 15 minutes or until the liquid is completely absorbed.
Finally, add the fresh lemon juice, chopped green onion, and the desired amount of salt and pepper to the serving dish of basmati rice.
