Almonds
Unsalted butter
Maple syrup
Salt
First, line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
In a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, grill the almonds for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Set aside and let cool.
In the same pan, always over medium heat, melt the butter with the maple syrup. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes or until the mixture thickens slightly.
Then add the cup of toasted almonds and continue cooking, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until the maple syrup caramelizes the nuts. Caramelization should take about 5 minutes to cook.
Finally, place the almonds in maple syrup on the lined baking sheet, taking care to spread them in a single layer and scatter them. Sprinkle with salt or fleur de sel and let cool completely.
