As you might have guessed, strawberries make the pink; and avocados, the green! Add basil to this strawberry smoothie for a fresh herbs touch! Since pink and green don’t create an appetizing smoothie when mixed (you can guess the colour…), we decided to make a layered version. It’s a great way to impress your guests! Pro tip: to keep the colours from mixing when layering, use a funnel (we love this one) and pour your smoothie close to the edge of the glass. This way, you’ll be more precise. You can also tilt the glass to create an angle effect with your layers. SIMPLY DELICIOUS : You can use this strawberry, banana and avocado mix to make frozen smoothie cubes! Bonà savoir Ripe avocados for a successful smoothie Because of their taste and unique texture, avocados are super versatile. They can be incorporated into many recipes, sweet or salty, hot or cold! In a smoothie, avocados give a smooth and rich texture. But be careful! Your avocados must be ripe! Ingredients Metric system Imperial system Strawberry, banana and avocado smoothie Bananas - 2 units 2 units To discover! Unsweetened vanilla soy beverage - 2 cups 500 mL To discover! Maple syrup - 3 tablespoons 45 mL To discover! Lime juice - ¼ cup 60 mL To discover! Frozen strawberries - 1 ¼ cup 315 mL To discover! Avocado - 1 unit unit To discover! Basil leaves - 20 units 20 units To discover! Preparation Switch to cook mode Strawberry, banana and avocado smoothie Step 1 In a blender, puree the bananas, soy beverage, maple syrup and lime juice. Step 2 Remove 250 ml (1 cup) of the liquid and set aside. Step 3 Add the strawberries to the remaining mix. Pulse in the blender until the smoothie is pink. Set aside. Step 4 Cut the avocado and remove the stone. In a blender, mix the 250 ml of the first preparation with th avocado and the basil leaves until the smoothie is green.
