No need to be a professional chef to impress your guests! Using a slow cooker can greatly simplify your life and allow you to make tasty and comforting meals! It’s a must-have tool for all the busy parents in the world.
Now you know what to cook this week… orange beef using your slow cooker!
If you want, add a small quantity of fresh ginger to your orange sauce! This makes the recipe so flavourful, you’ll want to eat it everyday! Plus, orange beef is a great recipe to warm you up in winter!
Garlic gloves, chopped
Dry basmati rice
Mini bok choys
White sesame seeds
Green onions, chopped
In a large bowl, mix the orange juice, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, Sriracha, oyster sauce, Chinese spices, garlic, half the cornstarch, and sesame oil together.
Cut the flank steak in thin strips (about ½ a inch or 1 cm wide). Then, coat the strips with the remaining cornstarch and place in the slow cooker.
Pour the sauce unto the meat and cook over low heat for 3 hours.
During the last hour of cooking, prepare the basmati rice following the instructions on the packaging. Steam the bok choys a few minutes.
Finally, serve the orange beef over the basmati rice with the bok choys as a side. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
For a more pronounced orange taste, do not hesitate to add orange segments and zest to your beef before serving. It’s really delicious!
