Plain Greek yogurt
Chocolate chips, melted
Cadbury creme eggs (mini or regular), cut in halves
Peanut butter, melted
Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Line a 23 cm x 23 cm (9″ x 9″) square pan with parchment paper, making sure to let it hang over the edges.
In a bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients. Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar, applesauce, Greek yogurt, melted chocolate, eggs, and oil.
Delicately incorporate the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Then, pour the brownie mix into the square pan. Spread the peanut butter on top by making circular motions using a fork.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Add the Cadbury egg halves on top. Bake 5 more minutes or until the eggs start to melt.
Let cool completely before cutting into 16 pieces.
To make the best brownies possible, avoid stirring the mixture too much. Otherwise, a protein called gluten will develop. Another important tip is to avoid overcooking the brownies. It is better to remove them from the oven while still slightly wet. They will finish cooking as they cool down thanks to residual heat.
